Stephanie Konvicka is the Executive Director of Hesed House of Wharton. She holds a BA in English Literature from University of Houston-Downtown and taught High School English for seven years before becoming the Director of Student Ministries at Wharton First United Methodist Church where she worked for ten years. During that time she led volunteer response for multiple community disasters, most significantly Hurricane Harvey. She is a founder and current president of the Wharton County Recovery Team. Her experience in student ministry and disaster recovery led to the development of Hesed House of Wharton, a nonprofit focused on increasing community resilience in a highly vulnerable rural community. She is a graduate of University of Houston-Victoria with a MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is passionate about rural community resilience, the arts, gardening, and almost anything outdoors.
