The Rural Whole Health Coalition (RWHC) was awarded $10,000 as part of the 2024 Rural Community Health Fund.
The Rural Whole Health Coalition, in partnership with the City of Smithville, launched the C.O.R.E. Program (Community Outreach for Resiliency & Empowerment) to help families protect their homes and build financial stability. With support from the Rural Community Health Fund, the coalition created a series of free, accessible workshops that turn complicated housing and financial topics into clear, practical steps.
The workshop series includes:
- Understanding Your Property Tax Appraisal
- Legal Workshop: Building Generational Wealth
- Budgeting, Banking and Beyond!
- Financial Literacy
- From Renting to Homeownership
By making these resources available online at no cost, the program is helping residents gain the knowledge and confidence to prevent displacement, preserve generational wealth, and thrive financially.
We are proud to support this initiative and grateful to the City of Smithville for co-hosting these events alongside the Rural Whole Health Coalition. Together, these efforts are strengthening community resiliency and ensuring families have the tools they need to remain in their homes for generations to come.
